Halloween 2008

Halloween was a blast this year. We carved pumpkins, one which of course had to be a 'Y' for Cougar football and a scary wolf for the other...We're Wolfert's...why not. Jack was a bat this year and absolutely loved Trick or Treating. He practically ran to every house saying "Knock, Knock, Knock," until we got there and he had knocked on the door, then he'd just say "Treat" (obviously, no dummy, all he wanted was the treats...no tricks) then after the bestowal of candy he'd say "Tink Tu" (Thank You) then on a run to the next house. My mom was in town watching Ty, so Seth and I both accompanied 'Jack the Bat' on his first real Halloween Trick or Treat. What a cutie. It made Seth and I want to be kids again running around getting candy. We're loving the Atlanta Fall. Beautiful colors everywhere, including our front yard where there will be many huge piles of leaves we'll get to rake up and jump in. Jack and Mommy did that the other day and we loved it.

New Arrival

Finally our little bundle of joy has arrived. On October 21, 2008 at 11:58 a.m. Ty Robert quickly made his way into this world and our arms. 11 days over due gave him the hefty birth weight of 9 lbs. 3 oz. and 21.75 in. long. Jack is being a great big brother. We are all so excited that our family is growing. WOW, a family of 4 in just under 3 years. We are loving every minute of it and consider ourselves extremely blessed.

Graduation Finally

It finally came. The great and final graduation...at least for now. Seth graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with his LLM in Tax law in May 2008. It was a wonderful day full of happiness and relief...no more finals. After graduation though it was back to work...packing up to move to Atlanta, Georgia.

The Magical World of Disney

We decided when we got to Florida that we should enjoy all it had to offer...including Disney World. We got season passes and hit the parks as much as we could...that is between studying and beaches of course. Jack loved the Magic Kingdom; Small World, Pirates of the Carribean, and Buzz Lightyear. Seth and I had a few other favorites; Tower of Terror, Rock 'n 'Rollercoaster, and Everest. The best part is that with children you can get Rider Switch passes and basically go to the front of the line, and it's also better to go in the off season of January and February. We had a great time especially when Seth's parents and Mark and Tess came out for spring break in April 2008 and we spent two full days at Disney World.

Our favorite spot

Crescent Beach Florida was hands down our favorite weekend adventure. We always liked going when it was a little stormy too, there were better waves for boogie boarding on. Jack as soon as we got to Florida fell in love with the beach, sand, water, and as much freedom as he could imagine. We usually hit the beach and then headed to St. Augustine Florida afterward for a great panini and gelato. Here's the boys playing and loving life.

GATOR NATION

While in Gainesville Florida we had to take in a Florida Gator football game, even though Urban Meyers is the head coach. Oh well he's no longer our BYU rival head coach. We had a great day watching the game with Eean, Astyn, and Emery our fellow Gator Grad students. Probably the most interesting thing at the game was when everyone put their arms around their neighbor at the end of the third quarter and sand some song. That's SEC football fans for ya. It was a great day and the Gators won.

We are go for launch

In February 2008 Seth and I took in one of the most amazing events. We drove down to Titusville, FL which is about 2 miles away from Cape Canaveral and watched the launching of a shuttle. It was awesome. There were tons of people lining the streets, like a block party almost, radios turned on to hear the count down. A beautiful day for launch, we even saw dolphins swimming under the bridge we were on. Then take off. It launched into the air and everyone cheered. A little part of history. Although next time we want to be closer so we can feel the power and rumbling of takeoff.

Holiday adventures

One of the most fun days we had was going skiing at Durango Mountain Resort with my dad in Colorado. Grandma and Great-Grandma were loving life babysitting Jack and mommy and daddy were looking forward to a day out. Before we got there Seth was talking a big game...BUT...after we got on the slopes he was walking the walk. After almost a decade of not skiing he did awesome. Granted I held my own too...yeah I ripped it up (according to me...and a sweet hubby).

Christmas 2007

What a Merry Christmas it was. Seth and I loved going to Utah and Colorado for the holidays and taking in the snow and mountains, those and family are what we miss while in Florida. We had some great times. While in Colorado we went on the "Polar Express" on the Durango Silverton Narrowgage Train. Jack thought Santa and the treats on the train were great. My grandmother actually came up to spend Christmas with us in Colorado which was a great treat for us and her. Here we are waiting for the train.

Halloween 2007

I know we haven't posted much but here is a few glances at our growing family over the past year. Don't worry once the new baby comes we'll have plenty of more pictures. For Halloween Seth was obviously one of his football heros...Brett Favre and Jack was an adorable little lion. We even taught him how to roar for the day. Had a great little Halloween party with some friends at our place. Our favorite part was the homemade rootbeer.

We're trying this for real now

Hello Everyone,
I know it's taken a while, but we are going to try doing the whole blog thing to keep everyone updated and "In the Know." It's been almost a year and a half since we last even attempted this so here's the short of the long of it. In August of '07 we moved from Salem, Oregon to Gainesville, Florida. We became Gators for a year in order for Seth to get his masters in tax law. We enjoyed Florida tons, and took every advantage it had to offer. Shorts in December, beaches, and of course Disney World. Seth was a studying warrior and it paid off. In December of 2007 he was hired by Ernst & Young Accounting firm as a tax attorney to begin work in Atlanta, Georgia July of 2008. Seth had some killer finals and then it was off to Utah and Colorado for the Christmas holiday. In May we found out we were expecting another little boy October 10, 2008 and we were thrilled. Jack gets a buddy, and daddy's basketball team will continue to grow. We are now in Atlanta and loving all the amenities of the big city. Only drawback is distance from family and friends. We also enjoyed seeing everyone at the reunion and picnic. Thanks for a great time and fun memories. Seth is a working man now, and paying his dues with long hours and interesting supervisors. Alicia is getting ready for the new arrival, working on her gardening skills, only the zucchini have died, and trying to keep up with Jack. We'll work our best on updating this more often.
